The revised Free Comic Book Day, comic heroes wearing trunks over their costumes, collection mentality, fine art/commercial art and Mark Schultz finishes this one up.
Comic books that seemed odd, quirky or outright silly to an older audience that we loved as kids begins this episode, then moves into the influence one artist has to another. Everything finishes with drive-in movies.

Anthony Desiato from Flat Squirrel Productions joins us, and besides discussing his many past and future projects, the different eras and storylines of Superman are covered as well. Then we go into books that are currently being read or reread.

The core four are joined again by Dallas’ daughter and begin the discussion by trying to think of great single issue and standalone stories. Rook and Don gush over Alex + Ada, specifically volume 2, Al reviews “Bravo for Adventure” by the legendary Alex Toth, and Don reviews “The Sculptor” by the near-legendary Scott McCloud.
The gang starts randomly bashing variant covers in mainstream comics and Al finishes everything out saying goodbye to Herschell Gordon Lewis.

Our host Dallas is joined by Rook, Don and Al to discuss anything and everything related to comics. Rook pulls out a gem from his childhood called Twilight Man, Don mentions TUKI which begins a nostalgic discussion about Jeff Smith and Bone. Al talks Archie (Archie Vs. Predator, All New Archie) and the wonderful artist of Afterlife With Archie, Francesco Francavilla.
Dallas reminisces about his favorite Alex Ross print of the Uncanny X-Men, and Roy Thomas is name-dropped. Dallas reviews the wonderful Sex Criminals by Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky. And, of course, there is talk of The Walking Dead and the new AMC show, Fear The Walking Dead.
